TRADE PREPARATION

ASSOCIATE HOME INSPECTOR TRAINING - TERM I - CLASS IS SOLD OUT!
TP-01 • Classes begin: Mar 1 (End date: Apr 14) • 39 Hours (13 Sessions) • Mon & Wed:6:30-9:40

This is a training program for those who aspire to become a MA "Associate Home Inspector" in accordance with the requirements of 266 CMR Section 4.00. The 39 hour course covers; Roofing, Exterior, Structure, Electrical, 266 CMR, Report Writing, and Contracts. This is a two semester course: Term 2(36 hrs) covering; Plumbing, HVAC, Masonry, Ethics, 266 CMR, Report Writing and Contracts. This course is approved by the Board of Registration of Home Inspectors. (Terms do not have to be taken in order. Completion of 75 hours is required for an Associate Home Inspector License.)

ELECTRIC CODE AND THEORY - JOURNEYMAN'S LICENSE
TP-03 • Classes begin: Mar 1 (End date: Jun 2) • 75 Hours (25 Sessions) • Mon & Wed: 6:00-9:00
This semester we will be working on various elements of modules of the requirement for the journeyman's electrical license. Please bring your code book to the first class.

Ed is a licensed Master Electrician (Mass./NH) for over 25 years, Owner of MrVolts, USA., Founder of Electrical Safety Council (Non Profit organization that helps Consumers with Electrical issues and Outreach Trainer with US Dept of Labor OSHA Division. Former employers are Home Depot, Procter & Gamble, KAO International. In addition, Ed is the father of two Great Kids, James and Emily, and two grandchildren, Giovanna and Velencia.

ELECTRIC CODE AND THEORY - MASTER'S LICENSE
TP-04 • Classes begin: Mar 2 (End date: Jun 7) • 75 Hours (25 Sessions) • Tue & Thu: 6:00-9:00
This course consists of (2) semesters of 75 hrs of instruction for licensed Journeyman Electricians preparing for Master certification Exam. This curriculum furnishes the necessary preparation in related math, science, and business. OSHA laws and the electrical code are thoroughly explored to qualify the student for a Master Electrician license. To enroll for the test preparation class, you need to be working as an Licensed Journeyman electrician. You must have been licensed for one year prior to the exam. NOTE: This is not a course where you learn how to be an electrician. SEE course TP-03.

PLUMBING CODE AND THEORY
TP-05 • Classes begin: Mar 1 (End date: May 25) • 77 Hours (22 Sessions) • Mon & Tue: 5:30-9:00
The Commonwealth of Massachusetts requires all apprentice plumbers to obtain 500 hours of classroom time involving code, science theory and math. The Commonwealth also mandates 100 hours of classroom time for journeyman plumbers seeking their Masters License. This course will effectively cover that information necessary in semester classes of 77 hours. Two courses are offered a year, one in the fall and one in the spring.

Rebecca St. Amand, a master plumber, has been employed for the past 11 years with Roto-Rooter. Rebecca is their regional trainer and is also an OSHA certified trainer. Rebecca brings with her a wealth of plumbing experience and training ability.

Serv Safe Certification
TP-06 • Classes begin: Mar 29 (End Date: Apr 26) • 12 Hours (4 Sessions) • Mon: 6:30pm-9:30pm
TP-07 • Classes held: Mar 13 (Saturday: 9:00am-4:00pm) & Mar 20 (Saturday: 9:00am-2:00pm) • 12 Hours (2 Sessions)
Massachusetts requires food service workers to be certified in Serv Safe. This class will cover the National Restaurant Certification Educational Foundation requirements for certification. Students will receive detailed instruction in safe food handling, techniques for proper food receiving and storage as well as HACCP (Hazard Analysis at Critical Control Points) instruction. Testing will be held on the last day. Tuition includes book and supplies.

Linda Millard has been working in the restaurant, hospitality and catering industries for over 25 years. She is in her eighth year as faculty at Keefe Technical High School, holds a teaching Certification in Culinary Arts and is a Nationally Certified ServSafe Instructor. She has a BA from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte and a Masters in Occupational Education from Fitchburg State College.
