Basic Wire Working

Give your jewelry making techniques a new twist. In this beginner course,
you will learn the basics for wire working. In the first session, you will learn
about various types of wire, tools required and basic wire manipulation. In the
second session, you will take these basic techniques and apply them to wire
wrapped earrings, beads and pendants. Tuition includes all materials. To

Anita Kratzsch has worked in the fashion industry for over twenty years.
After receiving her B.A. in Fine Arts from Brandeis University, she continued
her studies at the Boston School of Fashion Design and the Worcester Center for
Crafts. She is the owner of The New England Bead Company in Mendon, MA.
Jewelry Wardrobe I

JE-02 • Classes begin: Apr 9 (End date: Apr 30) • 9 Hours (3
Sessions) • Wed: 6:30-9:30
Design and create your very own jewelry ensemble! In the first session you
will learn about the required materials/tools needed to make a single strand
bracelet. You will also learn how to professionally assemble your bracelet and
attach a clasp. These techniques can be applied to future projects such as
mothers' bracelets. In the second session, you will take your stringing
techniques further by creating a "floating bead necklace". In this necklace,
stations of beads appear to "float" along the beading wire. In the third session
you will learn professional techniques for creating a variety of earrings. Once
you have learned these techniques, you will create two pairs of earrings. Design
direction will be provided throughout all sessions. So join this fun and
informative workshop and learn the basics. Upon completion, you'll be able to
create an endless number of jewelry designs for yourself and to give as gifts.

Herringbone Weave

Sessions) • Wed: 6:30-9:00
Add to your repertoire of woven seed beading techniques! Herringbone weave,
also known as Ndebele, gives a very textural appearance as the beads are tipped
left and right across each row. In this class you will learn the basics for
creating this stitch and then incorporate it into a herringbone weave bracelet.
Seed beads are small, so (if needed) please bring eyeglasses/magnifier so that
