DANCE
NEW CLASS! Embrace a chance to express yourself in a whole new way, drawing on the engaging music of the Middle East and the beautiful grace of bellydance. Learn how to use your hips, torso, arms, and feet to create movements your body has never done before. Each class incorporates the disciplined practice of muscular breakdowns to increase your fitness level and fuse the movements into your body, while also piecing together a choreography to keep it interesting and fun. Classes will end with a shimmy session to work your legs and get your heart pumping. Come discover the power of a dance form rooted in ancient times, and you too can unlock the bellydancer inside you! Room: Gymnasium Kaylin Tuition: $69 per person Kaylin is a Middle
Eastern dancer from the Central MA area. She has studied with a variety
of local teachers such as Melina of Daughters of Rhea and has attended
numerous workshops with experts in the field. Kaylin is part of the
professional dance troupe, Troupe Moirae which specializes in modern
styles of bellydance such as tribal improvisation and tribal fusion. As
a soloist, Kaylins main focus is American style cabaret with Egyptian
style influence, traditional bellydance that blends various regional
forms as well as being especially influenced by the precision and earthy
stylization specific to Egypt. She loves the study of Middle Eastern
dance, both for the unique flavor of the movements and music, and for
the depth of culture involved in its evolution. From her first
bellydance class she was hooked and she continues to take great joy from
being a performer, teacher, and student. She encourages women to see for
themselves how transformative, challenging, and joy filled the
experience of learning to bellydance can be!
No need to sit on the sidelines when you can be up on the dance floor. Line dancing is a great way to exercise and have fun. Step sheets will be provided for each dance. All new dances each semester except Electric Slide, Tush Push, and Boot Scootin Boogie. No partner needed, men welcome. Sign up today. Class fills up quickly!
