Scrapbooking for Beginners & Enthusiasts
CR-05 • Classes begin: Mar 24 (End date: Apr 28) • 10 Hours (5 Sessions) • Tue: 6:30-8:30
This course will introduce participants to the materials and tools of scrapbooking. Many beginning scrapbookers are wary of starting a scrapbook because they have too many photos that need to be archived. Participants will be given tips on organizing photos, choosing representative photos for scrapbook pages, and designing simple layouts that they can repeat throughout a scrapbook. Already established scrapbookers are encouraged to participate in this course, as it will provide both the motivation for completing pages and plenty of idea pages to work from. Beginners are asked to bring photos and an album (a post bound or strap and hinge album available at area craft stores.) Other tools and materials will be provided. Go to http://www.simplydesignedforyou.com and click on the Keefe Tech link for tips on buying scrapbooking supplies.
Room: 309 • Instructor: Nancy D'Amato • Tuition: $69

Although she has worked in mathematics education for 17 years, in 2005, Nancy established "simply designed", a design consultation firm specializing in wedding and event invitations, announcements, greeting cards, and personalized stationery (www.simplydesignedforyou.com.) The business has recently been expanded to offer scrapbooking and card making workshops. The motto of "simply designed" is "keep it simple." This extends to Nancy's scrapbooking techniques: simple layouts, classic color combinations, a minimum of flashy embellishments.

STAINED GLASS: BEGINNERS
CR-06 • Classes begin: Mar 11 (End date: May 13) • 20 Hours (8 Sessions) • Wed: 7:00-9:30
This course is for those who have never cut a piece of glass before. (However all students are welcome.) Using clear glass, you will complete a practice piece by the second night. This project will prepare you to begin on the flat project of your choice. Tools are available for in-school use only. The approximate cost of materials for your project will depend on what you choose. You could spend about $75 to $100 on supplies. Tools to do the craft at home will vary in quality and are an additional cost. There is a wide range of tools available for purchase at the stained glass stores. I will introduce you to a variety of them. A supply list and a list of suppliers will be distributed to you at the first class. Precaution - Lead is used in the class. Women who are pregnant or considering becoming pregnant should consult their doctor before registering.
